CHICAGO - Pakistan's Consul General in Chicago Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has urged the Pakistani Street Children Football Team, which is participating in Kids International Chicago Soccer (KICS) Cup here to do their best in their tournament contests and to show exemplary behaviour on and off the field.
Speaking at a dinner he hosted for the team, Tirmizi extended his good wishes and appreciated the role of Azad Foundation for providing opportunities to street children to showcase talent. The Pakistani street children had finished runners up during the 2014 Street Children Football World Cup.
The team and its officials were welcomed by the officials of Pakistan Consulate, representatives of Azad Foundation and prominent members of Pakistani community. The Kids International Chicago Soccer (KICS) Cup begun on July 19 and is being held for third consecutive year. Around 15 international teams from 12 countries would take part in this multinational and multicultural event. The Consul General said that this was a great initiative of the Lahore Committee of the Chicago Sister Cities International, especially of its chair Tariq Butt in collaboration with the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago. The Consul General further thanked the Pakistani-American business community for their generous contributions to the Azad Foundation, while pooling resources for team’s participation in the championship.
