Zulqarnain's inclusion to keep Akmal on his toes

LAHORE Wicket keeper batsman Zulqarnain Haider is optimistic about his chances of playing for Pakistan team in upcoming tour of England. Condition in England wouldnt suit the home team much because the raining season is just about to end and theres still some time left in the series, so the weather would get better in due course. Pakistan has good strength in bowling and batting as players like Salman Butt, Umar Akmal, Umar Amin, Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul can play important role in the series, he was quoted by a website. He said: Wicket keeping is an important part of the game and Kamran Akmal will have to be on his toes all the time because now he has some people eyeing his place in the team. I have been performing on the domestic circuit and if given a chance, I would play important role in Pakistans victory as I have the experience of playing under the English conditions. Zulqarnain, who has represented Pakistan in Twenty20 match against South Africa in 2007, is making his comeback to Pakistan side after three-and-half years. Waqar bhai and Shahid bhai have reposed their confidence in me and Im sure I would prove my mettle in the series. The two-match series against Australia would be harder when compared with England as they are in prime touch and all of their guns are firing, therefore, we will have to play our best game. Shahid Afridi is gaining confidence as a skipper and he has taken himself to a position where nobody can argue his place in the ODI or test team, he added.
