Pakistan rout San Antonio in exhibition polo match

LAHORE - Sufi M Haroon and Taimur Ali Malik guided Pakistan Seed Out to an inspiring 6-4 triumph over visiting San Antonio Polo Club (PC) in the Seed Out Polo Cup 2015 exhibition match played here at the jam-packed Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Sunday.
Makhdoon Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat was the chief guest and distributed shields among the winners. Taimur Ali Malik and Sufi M Haroon were the heroes of the match as they slammed three goals each in their team’s triumph while Ursula Lipari, Shehryar Bukhari, Hassan Agha Khan and Villiams hit one goal each for the losing side.
Sufi M Haroon started the match with his fantastic field goal to take 1-0 lead for Pakistan Seed Out which was later leveled by the visiting team whose Ursula Lipari hit one to finish the first chukker at 1-1. The second chukker saw Shehryar scoring a lead-taking 30-yard goal for San Antonio to make it 2-1. Pakistan Seed Out fought back well and hammered two back-to-back goals through tremendous Sufi Haroon to take 3-2 lead.
The high-voltage third chukker witnessed two goals each from both the sides as first Taimur struck for Pakistan to strengthen his team’s lead to 4-2 but San Antonio bounced back in great style slamming two back-to-back goals – one goal each from Hassan Agha and Villiams - to level the score 4-4. But before the end of the third chukker, Taimur smashed one to enable Pakistan take 5-4 lead.
Taimur continued his goal scoring spree in the fourth and last chukker and added one more to help Pakistan Seed Out take unassailable 6-4 lead to finish as the match winners. Sufi M Haris and Adnan Jalil Azam officiated the match.
