LAHORE - Wapda retained the National Cycling Championship title with winning both the gold at stake on the third day of the event here on Wednesday. Wapda won gold in 70km Road Team Time Trial and 1000m Solo Sprint to clinch one road and one velodrome event. Masood Saddiq was the chief guest and flagged off the riders of the 70km road event, started from Burki Interchange. Six cyclists from each of the eight teams competed in the strenuous event in which Wapda's team touched the finish line clocking one 1:25:09secs. Army took the second place getting a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes, 56sec, SSGC got the third place with 1 hour,28 min,09sec. Wapda's got another distinction when Naveed Ahmed returned a timing of 12.sec.75 to win the 1000m individual sprint in close finish as Railways M Shakeel got the second place with a timing of 12 sec.7.6.Army's Sakhawat Ali was at third place followed by M Zahid also from Army and Asif Baloch of Railways.
