LAHORE - Hamza Mansoor of Lahore Gymkhana clinched the 31st Millat Tractors Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament title which concluded here at the Lahore Gymkhana golf course on Sunday.
At the start of the last round, Hamza was three strokes behind leader Jamal Nasir but bounced back in style and left others far to bag the title. He won with a three-day aggregate score of 209 net and his scores for the three rounds were net 68, 71 and 70.
The other contenders, who failed to capture the title but made their mark through good display of golfing skills, were Ahsan Khawaja, Ameer Khawaja, Waleed Zubair and Brig M Masood.
Ahsan Khawaja was runner-up with scores of net 69, 68 and 74 and an aggregate score of 211. Ameer Khawaja was third with scores of 70, 72 and 72.
Wazir Ali of Lahore Gymkhana won the gross event with aggregate gross score of 223. M Rehman of Royal Palm was second with 225 score. Robin Bagh of Sargodha was third. In the seniors section, Col (r) Ikramul Haq of Garrison was net winner while Javed A Khan of Gymkhana was gross winner. In ladies section, Ana James Gill of Royal Palm emerged as net winner while Zaibun Nisa of Royal Palm was gross winner. At the end, chief guest Governor Punjab M Sarwar distributed prizes among the winners.
