ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) president Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt has promised to provide each and every thing Aamir Atlas Khan desires.
Talking to The Nation, the PSF chief said: “Aamir is honor of the country and I want him to win more titles for it. We will provide best possible facilities to him as well as other future medal-winning prospects of the country.”
“I hope after the successful conduct of the $25,000 event in Islamabad, the Players Squash Association (PSA) will allocate more high-profile events to Pakistan and allow us to conduct Pakistan Open once again, like we did in the past. I hope the players and officials have enjoyed their stay in the beautiful city of Islamabad and they have loved our hospitality. I am sure they will bring sweet memories with them and portray the sports-loving picture of Pakistan,” he added. Tahir also promised to take good care of wonder kids, very talented and best outcomes of the event Abbas Shoukat and Shahjahan Khan, who is son of former great Zarak Jehan Khan. “PSF is taking every step to promote squash in the country.”
Speaking about establishing academy here, he said: “Talks are underway with PSB to take over Roshan Khan Complex, where we can construct world class academy, which will be in great benefit to our players.” Tahir said: “Off course, Aamir was missed in the Asian Games, but other players were also very good. Luck didn’t favor us otherwise, Aamir-less squad was capable of winning laurels for the country. We will try our best to facilitate our players. It is Pakistan Air Force which played key role in helping players win laurels and it will continue to shoulder lime share of the expenditures.” “I urge other sponsors to come forward and lend a helping hand to the federation. We need sufficient amount of funds to send our players abroad not only for training purposes but also for the PSA events.”
