Imran records 3 century breaks in NBP Snooker

KARACHI - Imran Shahzad overpowered experienced Naveen Perwani with a rare exhibition of potting by five frames to four to reach the semi-final of NBP Ranking Snooker here at Karachi Club on Sunday and in the process recorded feat of three century breaks seldom seen in the sport. The two equally talented players faced each other in the third quarter final of the championship. As expected it turned out to be closely contested affair in which Imran Shahzad emerged winner by taking the decisive 9th frame by 120-0 score. This was the third century break from the player who first in the 4th frame registered a break of 112 and again in 7th frame recorded a break of 102. Three centuries in a match is a rare phenomena at least in Pakistan. Imran Shahzad won 22-74, 76-44, 53-69, 112-22, 44-56, 25-64, 102-19, 79-27, 120-0. In other quarter finals M Imran beat Abdul Sattar 5-4, Sohail Shahzad beat Sultan 5-3 and M Asif beat Umair Alam 5-3 to reach semi final stage. Results of quarter finals.
