IFA denies clubs’ secret scrutiny

LAHORE – Islamabad Football Association (IFA) president Dr Fazal Ur Rehman Saturday said that the association was not planning to carry out any secret scrutiny of clubs because it had no authority to do so. The scrutiny of clubs was the responsibility of only the PFF and no other regional or provincial association could do it at its own. In a statement issued here, Dr Fazal stated: “The news published in some of the newspapers regarding secret scrutiny of the IFA clubs is false, fabricated and has been published only on behalf of those individuals having their personal motives and interests.” According to the PFF and provincial/regional associations' constitution, there was no restriction on the tenure of election of the officials including the president, the IFA chief concluded.–Staff Reporter
