LAHORE – The Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) is holding the 2nd Punjab Women Chess Championship on October 27 here at a local hotel. Almost 30 top women players are expected to participate in the championship from across the province. The players securing top five positions shall earn the right to represent Punjab women team to participate in the upcoming National Women Chess Championship. The Pakistan Chess Federation (PCF) also planned to hold the National Women Chess Championship in the city at the end of current year. As the Pakistan women team regularly participates in the Biannual International Chess Olympiads, the PCF encourages the women players from all walks of life to take part in national and international events and updates all information about women events on its website.”–Staff Reporter
