Lahore-W enter semis of Lahore Veterans League

LAHORE Lahore Whites moved to the semi-final of first SPM Lahore Veteran Cricket League when they overwhelmed Lahore Eagles by 58 runs at Railway Stadium. Whites will now take on Lahore Muhammadan in the semi-final while the final will be played on Sunday at Railway Stadium, Garhi Shahu. Whites managed 256-3 in 30 overs with Dastagir Butt unbeaten 93, Amir Akbar 62, Ghaffar Kazmi 33, Naseer Bhatti 19, Salim Butt took 2-35, Muhammad Illyas 1-51. Lahore Eagles replied with 198 and their main scorers were Faisal Pirzada 77, Dr. Sohail 31, Imtiaz 28, Salim Butt 22. Ghaffar took 4-46, Muhammad Riaz 2-33, Rauf Wyne 2-49, Nadeem Zafar 1-38, Muhammad Yaqoob 1- 20. The umpires were Javed Ashraf, Qaiser Waheed, Waleed Yaqoob (3rd) while Khalid Niazi and Najamus Saeed were match referee and scorer respectively. Later on chief guest PIA GM Khawaja Sohail Iftikhar presented Man of the Match Award to Dastagir Butt. PVCA CEO Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, SPM head Aizad Sayid and Tahir Chughtai were also present on this occasion.
