ISLAMABAD - Four-member Pakistan junior squash team along with head coach Faheem Gul left for on late Monday night from Benazir Bhutto International Airport to participate in the Asian Junior Team Squash Championship starting from January 28.
PSF secretary Group Captain along with development officer Shahzaib saw off the team which includes Tayyab Aslam, Syed Ali Mujtaba Bokhari, Asim Khan and Israr Ahmed. Talking to The Nation, Amir said: “Draws are yet to be announced, but as defending champions, we are top seeds and we have worked hard during the month-long training camp established at Lahore and Islamabad under the command of coach Faheem Gul. Boys went through excessive training and I am confident enough we will be able to defend the title successfully.”
Sharing his views, Tayyab said: “As top player of the country, lime share of helping the country defend the title lies on my shoulders. I know my responsibilities very well and I will play the leading role in helping my country defend junior title. We have a very good and balanced team, and each and every individual is more than capable of beating any given opponent.”
