LAHORE - Azfar Hassan of Royal Palm won the challenge shield of the 7th Aquafina Royal Palm Golf Team Championship here at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club Golf Course. Azfar had a net round of 65 and that added to his first days net gave him a winning aggregate of net 141 along with challenge shield. The team championship is still in progress and at the end of the second round in the three-round event, Royal Palm ‘A’ team surged ahead and was the sole leaders aggregate score of 468 while Defence Raya team was on second two strokes behind at a team aggregate score of 470. In the individual event, the front-runner was Ashiq Hussain of Multan with two rounds scores of 73 and 74 and an aggregate of 147 while Tariq Mehmood of Islamabad was on second at a score of 148 followed by Fakhar Imam of Defence Raya at 150. Others in line are Zulfiqar Ali at 151, Ahmed Sarwar 152, Taimur Khan 152, Aleemur Rehman 153, Zohaib Wasif 153, Sajid Khan 153 and Saleem Raza 153. This a great display of good golf from Saleem Raza who is a handicapped golfer from Gujranwala, yet he continues to match wits with the best amateurs of the country.
