LAHORE - The Peek Freans Sooper Pakistan Open Tennis Championship will explode into action today (Monday) here at the PLTA tennis courts. The qualifying matches to shortlist players for this tournament were held on April 25 and 26. The championship includes the categories of U-12, U-14, U-18, men’s singles, women’s singles and men’s doubles. Some of the participants are also members of the Pakistan Davis Cup team and the national team. Former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik is tournament organiser. Zulfiqar Ali Ansari, Head of Marketing at EBM said: “EBM has consistently supported sports in the country since its inception and now it is sponsoring this event. This tournament gives tennis players a chance to develop their skills, and learn from some of the veterans.”–Staff Reporter
