IPC to conduct sports events at provincial level

ISLAMABAD - Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada announced to conduct provincial level sports events to prepare for the Asian Games.

Mian Riaz expressed these views while talking to a group of journalists at his office on Thursday. He said, they would short list the players who perform well during the proposed games and would made arrangements for their training at national camp so they could be trained well prior to the start of the mega Asian Games.

He hoped that recently-concluded second Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games would help detect players, who could represent Pakistan in 2020 Olympics. “Despite facing terrorists threats and other major and minor issues, the successful conduct of First QAG is clear indication we are working on a plan and the credit goes to all. We have to upgrade facilities, while after taking approval from prime minister we would include more events in next year’s QAG.”

He promised to take steps to make next year’s Games further interesting and competitive. “We had witnessed flaws in athletes training and preparations during the Games and  we would try to minimise flaws.”
