BARBADOS - Phil Simmons has been suspended with immediate effect as West Indies coach, two days after he expressed his unhappiness with the ODI squad selected for the Sri Lanka tour. Simmons received an email from the WICB on Monday morning, and an official confirmed the development. The WICB has not sent out an official release about the suspension and a message to the board president Dave Cameron remained unanswered. Simmons had been appointed coach after the World Cup in March, and is reportedly now seeking legal advice.
