PBF squad for C'wealth Games

ISLAMABAD (APP) The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) is participating in the Commonwealth Games being played in New Delhi from October 3 to 14. The PBF announced a six-member squad for the Common Wealth Games that includes Mohammad Waseem (49kg), Haroon Shahid (52kg), Qadir Khan (56kg), Adnan Hussain (60kg), Nisar Khan (75kg) and Mir Waiz Khan (91+kg). Two boxers in the reserve list are Naimat Ullah (56kg) and Arshad Hussain (60kg), a PBF official. He said that Cuban coach Francisco Hernandez Roldan would be the chief coach while Ali Bukhsh would be his deputy. President of Balochistan Boxing Association (BBA) Faqir Hussain will accompany the team as team manager. He said that the federation was grateful to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for its continuous support in the ongoing training camp for the team being conducted at the PSB coaching centre in Karachi under the supervision of Roldan. We are optimistic that our boxers will put up a good show and hopefully get on the medals podium at the Games, the PBF official said.
