The Belgian concluded the 2014/15 campaign as the PFA Player of the year and had many other awards to his name. Chelsea require him to enhance his goal scoring ability and lead the attacking mindset in the midfield to reduce reliance on the strikers for goals. The Belgian winger is quick on ball and can dribble the ball past two to three defenders simultaneously.

• Diego Costa

Diego Costa proved to be the difference maker for Chelsea in his debut season. His aggression and physical strength help him draw comparisons with the likes of Didier Drogba. The Costa-Fabregas link-up proved to be pivotal for Chelsea and led to majority of their goals, last season. Jose Mourinho will have to pay close attention to his fitness because his absence due to injuries could cost them much needed points.

Summary:

Chelsea have made reinforcements in key positions with Asmir Begovic replacing Petr Cech as the second choice goalkeeper and Radamel Falcao joining on a season-long loan. Chelsea need not to go on a spending spree because they have a balanced squad and would prefer beginning the next season with their winning combination.
