LAHORE - USA Cricket Association’s CEO Nabeel Ahmed on Wednesday called on Lahore Region Cricket Association president Kh Nadeem to discuss matters related to cricket. “Nabeel threw light on the working of USACA and cricket structure in USA besides highlighting the efforts being made for the overall development of cricket,” said LRCA spokesman. Nabeel is on a visit of Pakistan these days. USACA official said due to the measures taken for the promotion of cricket in USA, the game is gaining rapid popularity there and its base is being established by introducing it at school level. “It is a heartening sign that in New York a large of number of schools are involved in cricket and we are speeding up our efforts to evolve a system to organise it on a similar pattern in other parts of USA,” said Nabeel. Khawaja Nadeem appreciated the efforts of USACA for making cricket a popular sport and hoped that in coming years, USA will eventually achieve its goal of becoming full member of the ICC. Nadeem said due to the efforts of LRCA, cricket was being revived in the cIty which had now become the hub of cricket activities. He also praised the suggestion of USACA official for re-organising cricket in schools under a systemised programme.
