Care School Wins First Prize at CC Cricket Championship

We heartily congratulate the cricket team of the ‪CARE-Adopted CDG Boys High School, Qila Lachman Singh, Ravi Road, ‪Lahore for winning first place at the Commissioner Cup Inter-School ‪Cricket Championship 2016, accompanied by a cash prize of Rs. 300,000/-. Our ‪champions were up against well-trained teams of some of the notable schools in Lahore. The final match was held against ‪APS Memorial High School Model Town in Qaddafi Stadium on February 27, 2016, where QLS scored 272 runs in 40 overs for 8 wickets, while APS Memorial scored 151 runs in 39.3 overs for 10 wickets.

The team members included Zaid Alam (Captain), Muhammad Naeem, Babar Ali, Ahmad Zulfiqar, Zeshan Khalid, Fahad Munir, Fahad Karim, Muhammad Waqas, Fazal Butt, Bashir Ali, Waleed, Muhammad Amir, and Muhammad Umer, with Akber Butt as their coach and M.Umair Aslam as manager. Zaid Alam also won the titles of ‘Player of the Tournament’, ‘Man of the Match’, ‘Best Bowler’, attached with a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 each. Chief Guest Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Commissioner Lahore, DCO Lahore, and test players Majid Khan, Salim Malik and Abdul Razzaq were among those present.The Chief Guest, Mr. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif awarded cash prizes to the winners at the conclusion of the final match.

The CDG Boys High School, QLS has now qualified for a higher-level competition to be held in Sharjah and will soon be travelling to the UAE. We applaud them for their sportsmanship and skills and wish them best of luck for their next milestone.
