ISLAMABAD  – Amid CNG crisis and absence of public transport, cab drivers have started looting commuters in capital territory.

Due to absence of meter and fare list, the cab drivers are charging Rs 100 to Rs 150 for 5-km. in Red Zone area, including Parliament and Supreme Court. Government employees and visitors are forced to pay high fares to Cab because public transport stands banned to enter in the Red Zone.

Citizens and commuters appealed to the transport authorities to look into the matter and issue fare list for per Km traveling to taxi drivers. Cab drivers be also made bound to install meters in their vehicles and if they don’t do so they be fined, commuters demanded.
