LAHORE – The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the Lahore High Court (LHC) to take notice of the Punjab government’s double standards regarding implementing the law.

PTI Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed made this demand while addressing a press conference along with president City chapter Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed at party office on Saturday.

He said that PTI has submitted an application against PML-N Lahore president Pervez Malik, and 200 workers of his party for registering an FIR for beating the PTI activists and they would adopt all options if the FIR was not registered.

He said that the PML-N leaders had violated Section 144 by taking out a rally at The Mall, however the police registered a case against the PTI for launching a protest rally against the loadshedding.

Ahsan while claiming that the FIR against PTI leaders was launched on the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister maintained that the provincial chief executive fearing the growing popularity of Imran Khan had later directed to quash the FIR. He said that PTI leaders and workers didn’t need the mercy of the provincial rulers and demanded arrest of their leaders and workers to expose the double standards of the Punjab government.

He claimed that PML-N leaders had taken out a fake protest rally against the load shedding, as several PHA and LDA employees were directed to participate in the rally in order to establish it a successful show.
