RAWALPINDI - Sialkot Stallions set final date with Karachi Dolphins after defeating Peshawar Panthers by 40 runs in the second semi-final here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Earlier Karachi Dolphins shocked favourites Lahore Lions by seven wickets in the first semi-final. The final will be start today (Sunday) at 07:00 pm.

Chasing a big victory target of 198, Peshawar Panthers could manage 157 for 8 wickets in the allotted overs.

Gohar Ali (68), and Shoaib Khan Sr (29) played well for Peshawar. Abdul Rehman took three wickets, while Raza Hassan and Rana Naved got two wickets each.

Earlier batting first, Sialkot Stallions piled up 197 for one wicket in the allotted 20 overs. Shakeel Ansar (*100) and Haris Sohail (*69) put on 158 runs for the unbeaten second wicket stand that helped Sialkot Stallions to post 197 runs for the loss of one wicket. M Aslam was the only successful bowlers who took the only wicket.   .

Earlier, in the first semi-final, Karachi Dolphins thrashed one of the pre-tournament favourites team Lahore Lions by 7 wickets to enter the final of the Faysal Bank Super Eight Twenty20 tournament.

Needing 168 runs for victory Karachi reached home in 19th over of the match after losing 3 wickets; Shahzaib Hasan scored 28-ball 57 runs with six fours and four sixes.

Khalid Latif also played superbly and scored 45 in 35 balls, with the help of five boundaries and one six, Sheharyar Ghani remained unbeaten at 28 

For Lahore Adnan Rasool picked 2 for 29. Shahzaib Hasan was named man of the match. Put into bat first, Lahore scored 167 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Kashif Siddiq (48), Nasir Jamshed  (36), Raza Ali Dar (22) made good contributions besides 18 extras. For Karachi Faraz Ahmed and Tanvir Ahmed got two wickets each.
