BAHAWALPUR - Shafi Muhammad Tariq and Mehar Ramzan were elected as President and Senior Vice president of Lahore High Court Bar Association’s Bahawalpur Bench respectively.
Shafi Muhammad secured 993 votes while his opponent Muhammad Yahya Khan could get only 647 votes. Yahya was defending his seat.
Similarly for Senior Vice President’s seat Mahar Ramzan got 818 votes while Sardar Altaf Baloch who was competing against him could get 813 votes so Mahar Ramzan was elected senior vice president.
Shahid Sajjad Siddiqi, Shehzadul Haq Qureshi and Khawaja Muhmmad Tahir Qayyom advocates have already been elected unopposed as secretary general, joint secretary and finance secretary respectively.

He appreciated the contribution of the former Director Seerat Chair Dr Abdur Rauf Zafar for taking initiative of holding the Seerat Conferences here and conducted 4-International Seerat Conferences in a remarkable way.
The VC congratulated the Faculty Dean Dr Saleem Tariq Khan and his team for making the 5th International Seerat Conference a success.
He said that the participation of the scholars from Madina University was particularly a matter of great pleasure which proved that the IUB had been heading towards the right direction of religious education besides other subjects.
The host of the function Dr Tariq Saleem Khan thanked all heads of the campuses, members and the heads of all the departments for cooperation and support for making the event successful.
