KARACHI - MQM senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar said on Sunday that his party’s election manifestoes, over the years, have remained focussed on real empowerment of all oppressed people in the country.

He told APP Sunday that the MQM is for pro-people reforms and is strongly committed to political empowerment of women in the country.  In reply to a question, he said his party strongly supports women contribution to the national economy. Farooq Sattar said the MQM’s strong support for local bodies is also for the same reason as this enables people in general and women in particular to be actively involved in grass root level decision making process. “Women comprising a significant proportion of our population have to be particularly involved in decision making procedure at every level, he reiterated. To another query, Dr Farooq Sattar said land reforms are among the top most important agenda  of his party.
