LAKKI MARWAT - Blaming ANP local and provincial leadership for ignoring workers during the last five years of its regime, several local leaders of Awami National Party have quit the party and announced that they would soon join a new political party.
Speaking at a press conference here in Begukhel House on Sunday, Latifullah, Khan, Muhammad Yaqoob, Shadi Khan, ex-councilor Jamil Khan and others alleged that the leadership turned a deaf ear to the genuine problems and grievances of party activists hailing from the most backward southern district.
They said that five years long rule exposed the real face of district president advocate Sadruddin and some provincial leaders who did nothing for the welfare of party workers.
They said that the district president also revenged local ANP leaders and workers for nothing.
Speakers said that they brought the matter and revengeful attitude of district president and some provincial leaders into the notice of high command but to no avail. “Instead of accommodating party workers in government jobs and resolving their other problems some specific elements of the party promoted corruption and kept a mum over plundering of zakat fund in the district”, they told.
They said that the aggrieved, deprived and victimized local party leaders and workers had no option other than to say goodbye to ANP forever.
They demanded of the caretaker set up to probe utilization of developmental funds and conduct a comprehensive accountability of all actions and deeds of the previous ANP-led government.
Saifullahs aim to serve
people: Salim
Online adds: Former federal minister and candidate from NA-27 Lakki Marwat, Salim Saifullah Khan HAS said that the aim of Saifullah brothers is to serve the people in general and that of Marwat tribe in particulars.
Addressing public gatherings in Lakki Marwat, he said that Saifullah brothers carried record development activities in Lakki Marwat and that was the reason that our opponents could not find candidates in Lakki Marwat to contest against us.
He said that our opponents had landed imported candidates, who had been rejected by Marwat tribe before elections.
On the occasion JUI-F leaders Haji Dalai Khan along with his family and hundreds of companions lift JUI-F, joined Saifullah brothers and announced their firm support in upcoming elections.
Salim Saifullah said that the degree of JUI-F leader Malik Imran, candidate from PK-75 had already declared fake in 2002 elections and he was not eligible to contest elections.
He demanded from Election Commission to take action against Malik Imran as he violated Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
He highlighted that JUI (F) Ex-Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani deliberately put hurdles in construction of Kurram Tangi Dam Project, which was a matter of life and death for the people of Southern Districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and ignored Lakki Marwat in terms of developmental activities.
He appealed to Marwat tribe that to cast their votes for those people who served them in the past and would also serve them in future.
Masses to reject last
govt’s rulers: Sherpao
Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Sunday that the people would hold the previous government accountable in the May 11 general elections, as it did nothing to mitigate their sufferings.
“Our party’s manifesto envisages the restoration of sustainable peace and viable solution to the problems of the commoners,” he said while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Malakand Agency, at the party’s Central Secretariat in Hayatabad here.
PML-N Member Provincial Council Ibrar Khan and other office-bearers, including Main Alam Shah, Abid Khan, Guldad and others announced joining the QWP along with their supporters.
The new entrants to the party reposed confidence in the leadership of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and praised him for raising voice for the rights of the disadvantaged segments of the society.
QWP provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao and QWP Saudi Arabia Chapter’s president Muhib Gul Shalmani were also present. Aftab Sherpao said the so-called champions of the rights of the Pakhtuns had failed to secure their rights and restore peace on Pakhtun soil despite remaining in power for five years.
He said that the people were grapping with host of challenges, including price-hike and joblessness. He said that if voted to power, they would take solid steps to develop the hitherto neglected so that the sense of deprivation could be removed among the masses.
The QWP leader said the outgoing rulers didn’t honour the pledges made to the people in 2008 election campaign.
He said the so-called nationalists had miserable failed to receive the net hydel profit areas from the Centre.
