LAHORE - Farmers should start harvesting of wheat when the crop fully ripes and in case of rain they should stop harvesting. Punjab Agriculture (Ext. & AR) Director General Dr Muhammad Anjum Ali told APP on Sunday the wheat crop was in its final phases and growers should ensure the availability of threshers, tractors, plastic sheets and harvesters.

He also advised farmers to make proper arrangements for the storage of their crop, so that they could earn maximum profit. He said that a harvester should properly be cleaned before and after threshing and also asked farmers not to keep seeds of the first two sacks.  Farmers should mention the seed name on the sack and the moisture level of seeds in the sack should be up to 10 percent, he added.
