At least 14 persons including three women and three children were killed and 16 others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and other mishaps while a woman was abducted here on Monday.

According to details, in Jhang, three devotees were killed when a bus overturned. As per details, people of Mauza Thatha Sarnanga went to the shrine of Moran Wali Sarkar to pay respect. On their way back home the bus overturned and fell into a deep ditch. Resultantly three devotees including Janat Bibi, daughter of Sikinder Hayat, Shaman Bibi and a Fesco employee Umer Draz died on the spot while 10 others sustained serious injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital.

In another road mishap which took place on Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Bypass, a woman and her son were crushed to death.

According to available reports, 30-year-old Shehnaz Bibi, wife of Muhammad Aslam and her seven-year-old son Umair Shehzad, resident of Chak 268 Khokhran were working in fields when suddenly a speeding car (XY-866) turned into the fields and crushed the mother and her son while two car riders including Juma Khan and Muhammad Sarwar sustained critical wounds and were admitted to DHQ hospital. Similarly, dead body of an unidentified 25-year-old girl was recovered from a canal. The dwellers of Chak 466/JB spotted the body and informed the police which rushed to the spot and fished out the body from the canal.

In another mishap, 10-year-old Ali, son of Iqbal, a resident of Ward No-8 of Bhuwan who was admitted in Children Hospital died after consuming poisonous meal. The daughter of Muhammad Iqbal and his Driver Tanveer died two days back by eating poisonous meal.

In Sargodha, two persons were killed in an accident on Sargodha-Khushab Road. Muhammad Mumtaz and his maternal uncle Mohammad Sultan were going on a motorbike when they reached near Shahpur, a speeding van hit their motorbike. Resultantly both Mumtaz and Sultan instantly died due to severe injuries.

Meanwhile, in Hafizabad, Zahid Hussain and Muhammad Riaz, resident Uddoki were on the way to Hafizabad on a bike and when they reached Sukheke Road they fell down from the bike and died due to fatal injuries.

According to another report Amin Hussain, son of Kameer Ahmad along with his friend of Dhariwal was on the way to nearby village on a bike and when they reached near Kot Ishaq another speeding bike hit their bike. Resultantly, they were sustained critical injuries and were shifted to DHQ Hospital from where Amin Hussain was referred to Lahore hospital in critical condition.

The police have registered cases and are investigating. On the other hand, unidentified armed men gunned down a custom clearance officer here on Monday.

Unidentified armed men opened fire on the vehicle of custom officer Malik Muhammad near Ghatt Gujran Jhang Branch Canal, killing him on the spot.

The deceased custom clearance officer hailed from Upper Mall Road Lahore and he was serving at Lahore Dry Port.

The family sources said that Malik Amjad visited Hafizabad to purchase a vehicle and reasons behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.

The police said that cellphone data and other evidence have been collected.

In Chichawatni, two persons including a young student were killed and a woman was kidnapped in separate incidents here on Monday.

In village 118/12-L, an eight-year-old daughter of Rana Liaquat Ali, student of Class 4, died of electrocution while washing clothes in a washing machine.

Body of Talib Hussain, 30, a resident Mailsi, was recovered from Stable Road of Kasowal. The deceased was a drug addict and used to sell thermos glasses on motorcycle.  Meanwhile, a resident of village 39/14-L namely Suriya w/o Shakil Ahmed was abducted by unknown armed men when she was on visit to market in Iqbal Nagar to purchase books for new academic year of her children.

Police have registered separate cases and started investigation.
