The Pakistan Kissan Board has called upon the government to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in proportion to the depreciation in the value of dollar.
Addressing a press conference here, Kissan Board Hafizabad President Amanullah Chattha said that dollar rate against Pak rupees had decreased by Rs11 but the government had reduced the POL prices by only Rs2 per litre which was cruel joke with the masses particularly the growers. He demanded decrease in petroleum prices by at least Rs10 per litre to provide some sort of relief to the agrarian community.

22 booked: The police have registered a case against 22 influential members of land mafia on the charge of allegedly raiding a piece of land measuring 18 kanal owned by a widow situated on bypass road to occupy it.
According to police source, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Ilyas, Imdad Hussain, Asim Riaz, Munir Ahmad, Qamar, Mudassar and 15 others armed with firearms raided the land owned by Shaheen Akhtar, widow of Malik Muhammad Ashraf where her sister Farasat Bibi was getting boundary wall constructed.
On her resistance, the accused thrashed her and tore off her clothes while attempting to occupy the land. Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and foiled the occupation bid of the land. The police have arrested one of the accused while other managed to escape from the scene.
