London:- The University of Adelaide has named its new music institute after singer Sia. The Sia Furler Institute for Contemporary Music and Media is a fitting tribute to the local star who first found success with British electronic band Zero 7. Based within the university’s Elder Conservatorium of Music it is hoped that Sia’s use of multimedia through her music, videos and stage performances will inspire new students. The new centre was named after the singer in recognition of her position as one of Australia’s most successful musical exports.–COT
