BRA threatens to kill abductees

QUETTA - Outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA) who had claimed responsibility of kidnapping 11 labourers and 15 police officials from Naseerabad district has warned that if Baloch political workers were not released within two days they would kill the personnel of law-enforcement agencies. The spokesman of BRA identifying himself Sarbaaz Baloch calling from unknown location said that four more policemen have been killed in a remote control bomb attack in bordering area between Naseerabad and Dera Bugti. However, official sources did not confirm killing of four policemen. The official sources said that after strict directions of Acting IG Police Fakar ud Din heavy contingent of police and other forces headed by Director Crimes Rehmatullah Niazi have left for Chatter to ensure the safe recovery of kidnapped labourers and police officials. 'Fifteen policemen and 11 labourers are in custody of kidnappers and police backed by other law-enforcement agencies are taking all necessary steps for the safe recovery of all abductees, Sibi-Naseerbad Range DIG Shariq Jamal told a news conference in Dera Murad Jamali. DPO Naseerabad Attah Muhammad told The Nation that abductors had taken position in Lagaar area in Dera Bugti and all abductees including police personnel and labourers were detained in that area. Unidentified persons had abducted 11 labourers from Chatter area of Naseerabad and while seven police officials including SHO who were chasing the armed men were also kidnapped. Later, a team headed by DSP Muhammad Ali Khosa trying to recover abducted labourers and police officials were ambushed by armed men in mountainous area of Laloo Koh killing the DSP and injuring several police officials.
