SIALKOT - The Motra Police have registered a case against 12 accused for kidnapping the entire family of brick-kiln labourer, taking them into illegal detention and brutally torturing to death a labourer (the family head) upon his refusal to forced labour.

The Motra Police have registered a case (No. 402/2014) under section 148, 149, 302 and 365 PPC on the report of Asmat Bibi (widow of the slain labourer Zafar Iqbal). The FIR revealed that the incident occurred on June 6, 2014 (about two months ago), when 12 armed accused including Javaid Iqbal Cheema, Muhammad Sadiq, Arif Gama, Karamat and Muhammad Nawaz stormed into the bricks kiln of owner Haji Inayat Rehmani located at village Baig Chak-Motra from where the accused kidnapped the whole of labour family of slain labourer Zafar Iqbal including Maqsooda Bibi , Muhammad Iqbal, Shabana Bibi, Saima Bibi, Resham Bibi, Sughra Bibi, Farooq, Mudasar, Danish, Imran and Shahid Afridi.

FIR added that the accused took the family to Mandi Bahauddin district where the accused locked them into separate rooms and kept them in illegal detention and also forced them to bonded labour.

As the family head labourer Zafar Iqbal refused to forced labour, the accused tortured him brutally due to which he died.

Later, the abducted family’s other relative interfered and approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) for the recovery of the family. Later, the police recovered them from the accused custody. The LHC ordered registration of a case against the accused. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
