LOWER DIR - Unidentified persons opened fire at the residence of Qaumi Wattan Party MPA Bakht Baidar in Chaqdara area of Lower Dir early Tuesday morning, killing at least six people.
Those who were killed in the firing incident included Bakht Baidar’s brother Ishaq, two police officials and three guests.
MPA Bakht Baidar was not present at his house at the time of attack. A large contingent of law enforcement agencies reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The dead bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Seven killed
MARDAN (Staff reporter): At least seven people, including a woman, were killed while three others, including a woman and a child, got serious injuries in different incidents of firing in Mardan during Eidul Fitr.
According to the Toru Police Station, Waqar Khan and Hayat Khan, resident of Daki Mara on Eid night were offering prayer in a local mosque when accused Zubier, Nazir, Afzal, Darvish, Ayaz and Jamdad shot them dead.
In another incident occurred in the limits of same police station, Jamshid, resident of Bako Banda, reported that Malang over a money dispute allegedly gunned down his brother Hayatullah.
In the third incident, a woman namely Nabila, resident of Kandar, told the police that Raj Wali and Niaz Ali over an old dispute entered her house and killed her husband Mir Talab.
In another case, a woman Nazia told Jabbr police that her husband Huzoor Khan over a property dispute allegedly opened firing and seriously injured her and her 18-month-old child Hajra. In another case, Mahmood Shah, resident of Qasimi, told Kharki police that unidentified people killed his father Yousaf Shah.
According to the Katlang Police Station, Walid, Zar Bahadur, Faqir Bahadur and Shoaib, resident of old Matta, over an old dispute allegedly killed Mansaf Ali.
