KARACHI - At least five people, including a policeman, were killed in separate acts of target killing and violence during the Eid days.

In the first incident, Abdur Razzaq, 49, a policeman, was shot dead in an armed attack near Chamra Chowrangi in the Korangi industrial police area. Police said the deceased was going to Korangi industrial area police station for duty from his residence when at least two armed riders targeted him and managed to escape. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and handed over to his heirs after autopsy.

In the second incident, an MQM worker, Ehsan Manzoor, was shot dead in Ibrahim Goth, Malir. Police said the deceased was sitting outside his home when armed men targeted him. The police suspected it was a politically motivated murder. However, further investigation is underway.

In the third incident which occurred in the Liaqutabad police area, Afaq Ishaq, 32, was gunned down while his friends, Muhammad Umar, 28, and Zakir, 30, were wounded near Sheesh Mahal, Liaqutabad, during a clash.

In the fourth incident, Pervaiz Fazal, 55, was shot dead in Bihar Colony of Lyari in the Chakiwara police area. Reportedly, the deceased was sitting in a shop when two armed men came there, shot him dead and fled.

In the last incident, Korangi police found a bullet-ridden body in the bushes of a polytechnic college. Police said the identification of the deceased has yet to be ascertained. The body was moved to the JPMC morgue for identification after autopsy.
