Five murdered in three days

LAHORE - At least five persons were murdered in four different incidents in the provincial metropolis during Eid days, police sources said on Thursday.
As per details, a mother of four was killed by her husband over domestic dispute in Manawan on Wednesday, police said. The family told the police that Tariq alias Tara exchanged harsh words with his wife over some domestic dispute. He got infuriated and repeatedly hit his wife in the head with a brick. The mother of four sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot. Police have arrested the alleged killer and are investigating. The deceased had delivered a baby boy just two weeks ago.
A 35-year-old man was axed to death by his neighbours during street fight in Factory Area. Police said that Muhammad Altaf was attacked his by his neighbour.
The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. Police have registered a murder case and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
Another man was shot dead during street fight in Garhi Shahu area. Police investigators said that Zeshan alias Shani along with his accomplice Ramazan opened fire on Noor Muhammad following a scuffle. Noor died on the spot. Police have arrested the killers and are investigating.
Meanwhile, two men were gunned down over property dispute in Iqbal Town on the eve of Eid. Police on Thursday handed over the bodies to the family after the autopsy. Investigators said that Nasrullah and Hashmat were killed during crossfire between two rival groups in Satluj block of Iqbal Town. Police have registered the double murder case and are investigating.
