Mela Baba Syden Shah to start from 22nd

The three day celebrations of annual Mela Baba Syden Shah will start from August 22 here. According to convener Mela Committee Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Muhammad Azhar Khan, MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan will inaugurate the Mela.
“The Mela is a bouquet of diverse regional culture with the aim to promote local culture within the country. The motive behind the generalisation of Thal Mela is to practically show our youth the similarities, commonalities as well as diversities found in Thal culture,” he said.
The TMO said that all the arrangements regarding Mela had been completed. According to him, MPA Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu, DCO and DPO and other notable of the areas would attend three day ceremonies of the Mela.
Like other parts o the country, Jumatul Wida, (JuD) was observed last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan in Thal with religious zeal and reverence amid elaborate security arrangements. The faithful thronged mosques and offered last Juma prayers of the holy month of fasting with respect and honour.
During Juma prayers, ulema and khateebs delivered lectures on the importance of Ramazan and Aitkaf and urged the Muslims to fully act on the teachings of Islam and follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Special prayers were offered for the prosperity and solidarity of the country and unity of the Ummah. In the prominent religious scholar Qazi Muhammad Iqbal led the largest Jumatul Wida congregation at Jamia Masjid Qazi Sahib while Allama Sher Muhammad Sialvi led the prayers at Jamia Masjid Pahoranwali.
