Thronging recreational spots

LAHORE - The Lahorites, famous for celebrating every festivity with great enthusiasm and excitement, celebrated Eidul Fitr with traditional zeal and fervour.
The citizens remained busy exchanging greetings and spending their time with their dear and near ones. After offering Eid prayers, hundreds of thousand citizens thronged the Lahore Zoo, city parks and other recreational places.  A huge rush was witnessed at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Race Course, Lahore Zoo, Sozo Water Park, Jallu Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore Fort, Model Town Park.
 Many families taking along food items rushed to the parks to have fun throughout the three days of Eid. People of all age groups especially children enjoyed the most. Youth were seen roaming on motor bikes around the city during the Eid days. A large number of people along with families also visited Wagah border and witnessed the parade. As the Lahorites are also fond of eating, the Fort Food Street, DHA H-Block Food Street, Ananrkali Food Street and MM Alam Road remained the focus for most of the people as well as those who came from other cities.
The City police made foolproof measures to ensure security to the lives and property of the general public. More than 5,000 cops provided security cover to around 2,000 mosques, imambarghas and Eid congregations in the open places. The police personnel remained alert at the public places including the parks to ensure their safety. The Eid festivities are likely to continue throughout the week, as the government had announced holidays till Friday (today) whereas Saturday and Sunday are the off days. The government offices and business activity is expected to resume fully from Monday.
