LODHRAN-The Punjab Health Department claimed on Sunday that Lodhran is safe from Congo virus as no proof could be found regarding its presence in the district.

According the health department district spokesman, the girl namely Nadia Hina who allegedly had died due to Congo virus at Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital was actually a patient of typhoid. He said that the girl died after having long battle with typhoid as her husband, all the family members and 61 other persons concerned were examined but the virus could not be detected in any of them.

"40 teams have been constituted for the elimination of any case appears in the district regarding Congo virus," he claimed, adding that the teams have vaccinated more than 100 animals so far. He said that different test reports have also been sent to NI Lab Islamabad to adopt more precautions according to the results.

BAN ON SHEESAHA: Punjab Home Secretary Maj (r) Azam Salman banned use of hookah and Sheesha at public places, parks, hotels, restaurants and cafes under section 144 across the province. The ban will be effective from 1st August to September 30.
