DASKA - A high profile Indian delegation of engineers and experts headed by Indian Commissioner Indus Basin Treaty Oranga Nathan visited Sialkot and reviewed the water situation in River Chenab at Head Marala near Sialkot amid tight security, here on Sunday. Commissioner Indus Water Treaty Pakistan Syed Jamaat Ali Shah and other senior Pakistani and Indian officials were also present on this occasion. According to the official sources, a meeting between Pakistani and Indian officials was held at Head Marala Barrage near Sialkot amid tight security, here. During meeting, the both Pakistan and India discussed in details the matters of mutual interest especially the closure of water by India in river Chenab towards Pakistan. 'The meeting held in a pleasant mood and Pakistan highlighted the burning issue of closure of water by India in its true manners. Hopefully, it would be a result-oriented meeting', the official sources added. Talking to the newsmen at Head Marala, Commissioner Indus Water Treaty Pakistan Syed Jamaat Ali Shah termed it a bilateral regular mutual inspection. Replying a question regarding the possibility of restoration of water in River Chenab towards Pakistan, Syed Jamaat Ali Shah averted to give any comment. While, the Indian Commissioner Indus Basin Treaty Oranga Nathan averted to talk to media in this regard.
