ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) will hold various programmes to mark International Day of Persons with Disability, falling on December 3. "Dignity and Justice for All of Us" is the theme of the day this year that aims at promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The day will start with the distribution of wheel chairs among the deserving persons and a walk from F-9 Park, organized by PBM in collaboration with Milestone Society and Dolphin Welfare. The walk would be followed by a musical programme, puppet show, magic show, food festival and fire work. "The International Day for Disabled is a time to make a renewed commitment to these principles of dignity and justice ensuring implementation of the convention on the rights of persons with disability," said Zamurd Khan, Managing Director, PBM while talking to APP here on Sunday. He said that PBM would soon launch a campaign of providing wheel chairs to the deserving persons across the country for improving their living standard. "All human beings are not only entitled to rights, but also have the responsibility of making universal human rights a reality for all of us," he added. Zamurd Khan said, PBM has recently opened a park for special persons at F-9 park that includes special attractions for special children, a conference hall, open air theater and a display center in which the people working in 151 vocational centers of PBM have exhibited their handmade items.
