ISLAMABAD - Passing on the consumers, though partially, the benefit of massive reduction in international crude oil, the government on Sunday announced the reduction up to 13.5 per cent the price of petroleum products. According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Sunday late evening, the supreme petroleum prices were reduced by Rs 9 per litre, effective from December 1. The notification stated that Motor Spirit and HOBC have been reduced by Rs 9 per liter each registering reduction of 13.5 per cent and 11.10 per cent. Similarly, the Kerosene oil and Light Diesel have gone down by Rs 5 per litre each, indicating reduction in the two fuels by 8.79 per cent and 9.43 per cent. According to a spokesperson of the OGRA, the price of High Speed Diesel has also been reduced by Rs 4 per litre, which will be notified by respective Oil Marketing Companies. The government has reduced these prices keeping in view the current declining trend in international crude oil prices, he added. According to the OGRA spokesman, the per litre price of Motor Spirit has been reduced from Rs 66.66 to Rs 57.66, while HOBC per litre price has been reduced from Rs 81.08 to 72.08. The Kerosene Oil price per litre has come down from Rs 56.87 to Rs 51.87 and the price of LDO would be revised from Rs 53.00 per litre to Rs 48.00 per litre.
