LAHORE - The wheelers continued their horrible acrobatic tricks of one-wheeling in various localities of the City despite strict measures taken by the city police on Eidul Azha, The Nation learnt on Monday. The City police claimed that the department had initiated foolproof steps in order to stop the youth from performing the act of horrible wheeling on the eve of Eid, but the wheelers threw off all the instructions issued by the police. As many as 40 squads were formed by the City police to check and arrest the motorcyclists involved in one-wheeling. However, the youngsters, habitual of one-wheeling, succeeded in deceiving the police officials and special squads deputed on busy roads including The Mall, Jail Road, Ferozpur Road, Lower Mall and other adjacent roads of the City by changing their wheeling tracks. This time the youngsters chose the exterior areas of the City and roads of underdeveloped residential schemes for performing their dangerous and fatal one-wheeling tricks instead of selecting major roads of the City. However, no incident of any casualty or injury was reported in any police station of the City till filling of this report. On the other hand, the eve teasers taking advantage of the rush on public places including parks, historical places and food outlets continued teasing the visiting families due to which many persons scuffled with such youngsters. They were punished on the spot by the family members, private security personnel and police officials. However, most of them were released after giving them a good thrashing. A number of such incidents were occurred in the parks and the Zoo where the administration handled and resolved the matters on the spot with their personal interference for maintaining peace on such public places.
