We have just celebrated Eid and if we truly analyze it candidly, I am sure that you will all agree with me that it is, like other things, an occasion to exhibit our wealth and affluence. Our sacrificial animals should be big and bigger, at least the biggest in the area we live in. They ought to be too many, more than the neighbours. Only paid agents should manage their Qurbani. They hardly recite "Allah-o-Akbar" as per tenet of Islam. The poor deserving people are not only ignored, but also lambasted, if they seek some meat. I am sure. I do not have to remind my fellow citizens. AMJAD HABIB MIRZA, Lahore, November 30. Corruption bonanza People voted for a change on 18 Feb, because they had faith in the capability of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. What we see happening in Sindh is not what we expected. The rulers are interested in just making money and in the process bringing a bad name to the party. There are hardly any jobs. Sugar mills belonging to profiteers have minted money through hoarding and black marketing. The land mafia is also in full swing. One wonders where has all the wheat gone? Along with financial mismanagement, there is abuse of powers, disregard of merit and lawlessness that has led to resentment among the masses. The government has been voted for a five year term, to provide good governance, rule of law and transparency, not for what it has been doing for the past 18 months. ANEELA CHANDIO, Sukkur, November 30.
