RAWALPINDI (PPI) - Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rawalpindi on Eid Day and inquired about the health of Army Officers and Jawans who were injured during operations in Swat and South Waziristan. He appreciated high morale of the troops and said that the whole Nation stood united behind its Gallant Armed Forces in their fight to rid the Country of the menace of terrorism. He said that the Nation valued the sacrifices being made by the Army personnel and assured that the Government would continue extending all possible support to the Army in its pursuit to defeat terrorism. Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani also accompanied the Prime Minister. Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani received the Prime Minister on his arrival at CMH. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has announced three months remission in the sentence of prisoners on the religious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and also announced 2 new ambulances and construction of a barrack for Adiala Jail. The Prime Minister, while visiting the jail on the first day of Eid, also announced to pay an amount of Rs. 9.7 million on behalf of the Government for the release of prisoners who had completed their sentence but were unable to pay the fined amount. Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also visited A-Class barrack and Community Hall and listened to the problems of prisoners and assured that that the Government is taking all possible steps for the welfare of prisoners. During the visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by IG Jails Nadeem Kokum Warriach, DIG Jails Rawalpindi Region Shaukat Feroz, and Jail Superintendent Saeed Ullah Gondal.
