QUETTA Unidentified persons attacked a police station and snatched away a large quantity of arms and ammunition on Sunday last from a police station in District Awaran of Balochistan. Official sources said around 35 armed men attacked the police station in the wee hours impersonating themselves as Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. They kidnapped four policemen besides snatching arms and ammunition from the police station. The looted weapons included seven kalashnikovs, nine G-3 rifles and LMGs each, and seven pistols besides two wireless sets, bullet-proof jackets and seven thousands bullets of different arms. Later, they freed the cops near Mashkay area of the district. No group has so far claimed the responsibility of attack. It is pertinent to mention that Online (news agency) had earlier reported that the attackers took away around 600 rifles and guns with them.
