Pakistan should not participate in Bonn conference, says Zaki

LAHORE - Former Foreign Secretary Akram Zaki has said that boycott of Bonn conference on peace in Afghanistan is good decision. He said that only one declaration would be issued there and no international conference could do anything until internal resolution to Afghanistan problem is sought. In an interview with Nawa-i-Waqt on Wednesday, he said Pakistan should not participate in Bonn conference despite pressure because US violated international law and boycott of the conference is reaction of that. He said Pakistan policy vis--vis US should be reviewed altogether. He said relations with China, Russia, Turkey and other countries should be strengthened as they are standing with Pakistan after Nato incursion. He said US can expert pressure on Pakistan through World Bank, Asian Development Bank and European Union. Pakistan should raise voice against the US in United Nations, he added.
