MARDAN - In order to obtain tickets for the coming general elections, a ‘cold war’ is on among the office-bearers and workers of various political parties in Mardan district.

Besides, local leadership is too busy to attract influential of others parties to their parties in different constituencies.

 In this connection, some office bearers of PK 24 want to give ticket of PK 24 to Ali Khan who is son of former federal minister Haji Yaqoob Khan who recently joined the party while some of the office bearers want to give ticket to the current MPA of PK 24 Haji Ahmed Khan Bahadur.

Sources added that due to this reason ‘cold war’ is started among the office bearers of different union council of PK 24 and PK 24 office bearers. Sources said that in this connection JUI-F district Ameer Maulana Shujaul Mulak, Member national assembly (MNA) and provincial general secretary of JUI-F Maulana Mohammad Qasim, PML-N office bearers and PPP leaders have started contact with Haji Ahmed Khan Bahudur to join him in their party.

Party sources further said that ANP leaders are also facing such type of situation in provincial constituency of PK 25 where majority of the office bearers opposing the current member provincial assembly (MPA) Ghani Dad Khan and they demanded the party leaders to give ticket in the upcoming election to member national assembly (MNA) Himayatullah Mayar who won NA-9 seat in the by election.

Sources further said that majority of the workers and office bearers are unhappy with Ghani Dad Khan and said that he has ignored the party workers and instead of strengthening party he has strengthened his own group.

Sources added that in past Ghani Dad Khan won this seat on ANP ticket and later on he quit the party and joined the former chief minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao cabinet. Sources added that before the 2008 election he through provincial office bearers of the party again joined the party while at that time Mardan district leaders and office bearers were unhappy on his joining but at that time they accept the decision. Sources said that in these two provincial constituencies ANP leaders would face a lot of problems on ticket issue in the upcoming election.
