KARACHI - Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq said on Friday the PPP-led government empowered women in the country following the vision of slain former premier Benazir Bhutto. The government has provided buses to the educational institutions at a cost of Rs96 million to facilitate female students suffering transport problems in the province, he said. He was addressing a ceremony at RLAK Home Economics Govt College for Women held to hand over 14 buses to principals of government girls colleges.

Taking notice of detailment of lectures on the complaint of Shahdadkot Girls Degree College Principal Noorjahan Soomro, he asked the secretary education to cancel all detailment orders of male and female lecturers of government colleges and give him a report in this regard within three days. He also directed Regional Director Colleges Sarwar Qureshi to provide furniture, laboratory chemical and other required material to all colleges in the region within a week.
