Renowned international wrestler Antonio Anoki who is now Muhammad Hussain after embracing Islam arrived in Lahore along with other wrestlers on Saturday.

Muhammad Hussain Anoki and the other wrestlers from Japan will take part in the International Sports and Peace Wrestling Festival in Lahore.

Talking to the media at Allama Iqbal International Airport upon his arrival, Muhammad Hussain Anoki said that he has come to spread the message of peace through sports. He told that he had embraced Islam in Iraq and now his Islamic name is Muhammad Hussain Anoki. He said he had given the sacrifice of two goats after embracing Islam.

He expressed his pleasure over his visit to Lahore and remembered Akram and Jhara Pehalwan. He said that he wishes to promote wrestling in Asia and wants to train the Pakistani youngsters in the sport.

The Sports Board Punjab is holding the festival to mark the 60 years of sporting relations between Pakistan and Japan where the wrestlers of the two countries will face each other in free wrestling matches at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore
