Multan/HAFIZABAD - The PPP workers and leaders celebrated 46th founding day of the party here on Friday, pledging to further promote the vision and philosophy of party founding chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

The proceedings were chaired by former federal minister Malik Mukhtar Awan and PPP South Punjab General Secretary Malik Amir Dogar while city president Khurshid Khan, Khalid Hanif Lodhi, MPA Usman Bhatti, M Salim Raja, Javed Siddiqui and others participated in it.

Addressing the participants, the speakers said that the PPP would translate the dreams of masses into reality by giving province status to the South Punjab region before 2013 polls. They added that the PPP turned Pakistan into a nuclear power, gave masses representation in rule and laid the foundation stone of an enlightened Islamic welfare democratic state during its 46 year long struggle.

They said that the idea of politics of reconciliation introduced by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto proved a milestone in country's travel towards progress and prosperity. They claimed that PPP and its allies would sweep upcoming polls and form government once again. They said that the workers had started preparations for the elections as mass contact drive was launched.

They also paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of PPPP and expressed confidence in the leadership of Bilal Bhutto Zardari. Later on, the participants of the function cut a cake.

HAFIZABAD, the foundation day of PPP was observed in the city at a simple ceremony.

A meeting of the workers was held under the chairmanship of the party City president Zulfiqar Chand Bhoon in which the workers paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and pledged to strive for fulfilling the mission of late ZAB.
