Various trade bodies having nationwide representation of the business community have warmly welcomed the reasonable reduction in petroleum products’ prices, and demanded decrease in transport fares and all the commodities’ prices.

Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SVP Mir Alamgir Meyer talking to newsmen welcomed the decision to reduce the oil prices by 9.43. He said it would create positive impacts on economy. He said it was first time in the history of Pakistan that the government has reduced the prices according to international oil market.

“It is a new beginning and it would be ultimately beneficial for the people,” he said, adding the transporters should also revise fares according to new oil prices. He said, “We need self-assessment as how to reduce the prices of other commodities according to the oil prices.” He stressed the need of honesty among all of the stakeholders to act according to the reduction of oil prices and suggested for a mechanism to implement the reduction of oil prices on other commodities.

Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan Central Chairman Ejaz A Khokhar,  All Pakistan Dry Ports Association Chairman Muhammad Ishaq Butt, Sialkot International Airport Limited Chairman Sheikh Muhamamd Yaqub, Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association Chairman Rana Naveed Akhtar, Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association leader Muhammad Younas,  SVC Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed Jammu, Markazi Anjuman Tajraan President Mehar Ghulam Mujtaba and Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association leader Muhammad Rafi Soni warmly welcomed the reduction in POL prices. They said that it was the demand of the day and direly needed. They hoped the rate reduction would give stability to national economy.
